Project Description


Using the paste cemented backfill mining method, tailings and surrounding waste rock are pressurized by industrial filling pumps and transported to the stopes. An innovative approach involves using 20,000 tons of water-quenched slag produced annually by the company's smelter as a supplementary component for the coarse aggregate in the backfill system.




Project Outcome

By using full tailings paste Cementation backfill, the project reduces tailings discharge, extends the service life of the tailings dam, and eliminates environmental pollution caused by water-quenched slag waste. This project was awarded the "Special Prize for Science and Technology" by the China Gold Association.
