Introduction to the New Materials Center

Established in January 2021,the New Materials Center is a key part of FENY Co.,Ltd.'s full industrial chain layout, focusing on developing environmentally and friendly cementitious materials for backfill mining. The center aims to address issues such as high backfill costs and low body strength through innovation. It has successfully developed various eco-friendly cementitious materials for backfill mining and can customize solutions based on customer needs and available solid waste resources. This approach effectively addresses challenges such as early low strength of tailings, large amounts of cementitious materials for coal mine backfill, and high costs. The center is equipped with advanced research laboratories for paste backfill, using professional experimental equipment and scientific methods to conduct extensive research in the field.Research activities include physical and chemical property analysis, flocculation sedimentation tests, mix ratio tests, ring pipe tests, and on-site semi-industrial tests, providing solid support for the design, construction, and operation of paste filling systems.

New Material Product Introduction

Soil solidification admixtures

Product Introduction:

Soil curing admixture is an innovative cementing material designed to consolidate tailings, clay, silt, dust and silt containing fine to very fine particles, and is classified as a new green material with high efficiency and environmental protection. It is made from a variety of natural and man-made inorganic mineral raw materials, which are processed through physical and chemical activation. The chemical composition of this admixture is similar to that of soil, which is gray-white, non-toxic, odorless inorganic non-metallic powder, and has good environmental friendliness. In a moisture-proof environment below 75°C, it has a shelf life of up to 12 months. Soil solidification admixtures embody the R&D concept of efficient resource utilization of industrial solid waste, and through the efficient physical and chemical activation of artificial inorganic mineral raw materials, the products prepared are not only harmless to the environment, but also achieve the environmental protection goal of treating "waste" with "waste".

Slag-based cementitious material

Product Introduction:

This slag-based new material uses granulated blast furnace slag as the main raw material, supplemented with gypsum and lime or cement clinker as activators. It aims to overcome issues such as insufficient cement strength, high cement usage, and excessive hydration heat. This material is particularly suited for environments using full tailings or ultra-fine full tailings as backfill aggregate. During hydration, gypsum acts as a sulfate activator, while clinker or lime serves as an alkaline activator to promote slag hydration. This process primarily generates hydrated calcium sulfoaluminate (i.e., ettringite) and low-alkaline hydrated calcium silicate (C-S-H) gels, effectively enhancing the material's performance.

Coal-based cementitious materials

Product Introduction:

The new coal-based solid waste material is an innovative material developed for the coal resource-rich areas in northern China, aiming to solve the problems of solid waste treatment and resource utilization generated in the process of coal development and utilization, which have long been one of the main challenges to environmental protection in mining areas. The material is processed and produced by selecting solid waste and a small amount of admixtures generated by power plants, coal chemical plants, smelters, etc. through the method of adapting measures to local conditions, and the crushed coal gangue is used as filling aggregate for mine filling, which not only realizes the reasonable disposal and resource utilization of coal-based solid waste, but also effectively solves the problem of the topping rate of the underground backfill and achieves a high topping rate. This approach not only promotes environmental protection, but also improves resource efficiency.

Metal smelting slag-based cementitious materials

Product Introduction:

The waste residue produced by the metal smelter is effectively used to produce gelatinity through physical activation and chemical excitation, which is used for low-strength mine filling, which not only realizes the comprehensive utilization of solid waste resources, but also reduces the filling cost of the mine.

The main features of the new filling cementitious materials are summarized below:

● High filling strength: Practice has proved that this material has excellent cementation ability for fine-grained tailings and crushed gangue, and its filling strength is high.

● Good fluidity: The slurry fluidity of the new material is improved, which is conducive to improving the construction efficiency.

● Strong segregation resistance: When using new filling cementing materials, the common water leakage and segregation problems can be effectively avoided, and the uniformity and quality of the filling body are ensured.

● Low heat of hydration: Due to the low or no amount of clinker, the heat of hydration of the new material is low, which is conducive to reducing the volume expansion and crack generation during downhole filling.

● Cost-effective: Under the premise of ensuring the same filling strength, the amount of new materials is small, which effectively reduces the filling cost, improves the utilization rate of tailings and gangue, and reduces the environmental impact.
